Get set for a special night of African Beats, Food and Fun as the leaders of the Sudanese community, together with the chair of the mentoring organisation The Helping Hand Project, look to raise funds and awareness for the cholera epidemic in Sudan. Many of the Sudanese community are losing family members to this disease back home.
The night will have a South Sudan influence with both the Travellers and Sunnyman being Sudanese artists and traditional dancers performing. Reggae band Ras Jahknow Band will also be performing as well as additional West African influenced bands to bring some variety as well as DJ’s playing African beats throughout the night.
To help raise funds, there will be raffles and an appearance by AFL Footballer Majak Daw. Provided on the night will be finger food as well as Sudanese food with drinks at bar prices.
We encourage both the local Flemington/Kensington and Sudanese community to support this unique event. So please share and pre-purchase your tickets by going to: http://bit.ly/sudanfundraiser
